My Card Box ~ Organization

I like to make a bunch of cards at one time and then just use them as I need them. It just makes sense because then I can make a ton at once (like the ones I made here) and I don't have to make a huge mess every time I want a card :) Putting together this card organizer box was SUPER easy!

First, I had three recipe boxes. Seriously, I love my recipes, but a girl just doesn't need three boxes of recipe cards! And this one was Vera Bradley - so I wanted to make sure it was feeling used and loved :)
It came with the above recipe card dividers...and get ready because this was the tricky part:
I flipped them over and wrote on the (now blank) tabs!

Here it is again! My super easy card box. Now I just need to pull out my cricut and make more cards!

Our House on Move-In Day

Hello! I'm still here! :) Sorry it's been so long. I had no idea I'd be as busy as I've been these last few weeks. Despite the crazy busy-ness, we are just about all moved in, all rooms painted, kitchen cabinets almost done, AND my second year of teaching is off to a good start! Night and day difference from last year - it's so nice to kinda feel like I know what I'm doing (but don't get me wrong, there is still A LOT to do!)

I haven't gotten a good picture of my hubby and I in front of the house yet...but I have to show you something, so here we are - House, Hubs, and ME!
And let me take in you the back door. This is how everything looked as we first walked into the house after closing. It's a split level - no basement, so when you come in the back you start in the lower level.
Update: See what we did with that wood paneling in our Family / Living Room!

And up the hallway :)
(Sorry for the blurry pictures, but I didn't notice until it was too late and you can't really retake before pictures!)
Update: Check out the difference in our cabinets in Our *NEW* Kitchen and Dining Room

Now let's head up the other set of stairs and through the hallway to the bedrooms Photobucket
(Hm, looks like most of my labels moved on this collage. The middle picture is the master bedroom, as well as the top right picture. There are a total of 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom up here.)

So, I can't wait to show you how much it has changed already!! But actually I can because that's going to be a lot of work. I'm actually going to have to pick up before I take nice pictures to show you all! And that might take a while! HA! :)

No, but for real, it's getting there and I hope to show you at least one room this week, maybe two if you're lucky! And classroom pictures and pictures of some of the random new furniture I bought/found :)

Moving tomorrow!

We move tomorrow morning!!! Our final walk-through is at 9:30 and then our closing meeting is at 10:30. After that, we can MOVE IN!! Woot woot

This is our 3-step plan :)
Monday: move-in small stuff, paint trim
Tuesday: continue to move in small stuff, paint our bedroom, dining/living area
Wednesday: movers will move our furniture, paint kitchen

Here are the colors we have chosen so far:

For the trim - Behr's Swiss Coffee - it's an off-white, couldn't find a sample picture online (semi-gloss)
Bedroom - Behr's Gulf Winds - the blueish color (eggshell)
Living/Dining Room - Behr's Comforting - the tan/brown/pink color (eggshell)

I still need to pick a color for the kitchen - hence why I've "scheduled" that room for Wednesday! I'm thinking either a green or a blue (maybe a purple if I'm feeling really daring). It will connect with the comforting color and will also be on one wall in the dining room.

I will be sure to take before and after in-progress pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to post some right away tomorrow night, but I'm not making any promises.

Not quite sure how I will be painting tomorrow. I think I did too much research and am overwhelmed with all the different techniques!  I've heard it's best to wipe everything down with a TSP cleaner and to mix the paint with some sort of paint thinner so that it stays wetter on the walls. BUT the guy at Home Depot told me it's not really necessary and he just paints right from the can (well after he pours it into the paint roller thingy). Really, Home Depot I'm just confused. I also can't decide if I should tape or rely on my cutting skills/a wet rag to fix my mistakes! lol Any suggestions?
